Frequently Asked Questions:


Q: Grades: How are Grades Determined for Eligability?

To be eligible for membership, students must have and maintain a grade point of 3.7 or higher for their 7th grade academic year only with no grade lower than a "C". Please note: 6th grade performance is not factored into the GPA requirement. Students that are eligible for initial membership will be notified the first week of school during their 8th grade year.
Students can also qualify for the society by earning a combined cumulative grade point average of 3.7 for their 7th and 8th grade years at the end of the 1st semester of the 8th grade year. Students that are eligible for membership at this time will be notified during the 3rd week of the 3rd quarter.


Q: Grades: Are Grades weighted per type of class? (Extended Etc.)

Simply, No.

Q: Membership: How are Kids Inducted into NJHS?

First: at the end of 7th grade students that meet the 3.7 or higher for their 7th grade academic year only with no grade lower than a "C", are eligable.

Second: by September 5th students are required to submit their inital letter form and dues payment.
